Ringwood Hall Wedding Photography, Sharny & Casey

Sharny & Casey’s Cold, Wet, Wildly Fun November Wedding at Ringwood Hall, Chesterfield in Derby
November weddings get a bad rep. Cold, dark, wet. This one proved that weather means absolutely nothing when the people, the vibes, and the tequila are spot on.
Sharny and Casey tied the knot at Ringwood Hall in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, and this was my very first time photographing a wedding there. Safe to say, it did not disappoint.
From the minute I arrived, it was clear this was not going to be a stiff, stand-up-straight kind of day.
Quite the opposite.

Getting Ready at Ringwood Hall
Everything took place at Ringwood Hall, which honestly makes life so much calmer on a wedding day.
No rushing around, no clock-watching, just one beautiful location from start to finish.
In the morning, I was asked to capture all the thoughtful details, and there were plenty.

DETAILS
Wedding invites lay out perfectly.
Personalised Converse ready to be worn. Beautiful bouquets. Pearls and a fur shawl that felt very November-appropriate. Dresses on personalised hangers. Rings. Flower girls are buzzing with excitement.

EMOTIONAL MOMENTS
One of the most emotional moments came early on, the first look with Sharny’s grandfather and father. Proper lump-in-the-throat stuff. Quiet, genuine, and such a special thing to have documented.
A Ceremony Full of Personality
Before the ceremony even started, I knew it was going to be fun. Sharny and Casey had asked their groomsmen, Kye and John, to act as unofficial coordinators. Clipboards and all. Seating sorted, music cued, photo herding under control. Iconic.

Confetti wasn’t allowed at Ringwood Hall, which Sharny described perfectly as a “sad face” moment. But instead, they came armed with bubbles and wedding wands so we could still get those walk-through shots. Honestly, bubbles in November rain hit different.
Also, they had a maid of dishonour, which I absolutely love. Straight away tells you this wedding is doing things its own way.

Beating the Weather, Just About
It was cold. Proper November cold. And wet. But we watched the drizzle like hawks and when we got a tiny window, it was a unanimous “YES, go for it”.
We smashed out the confetti-style walk-through with bubbles and went straight into the big group photo outside. No hesitation. Everyone nailed it.
After that, we tucked ourselves under the porch entrance for all the requested group photos so everyone stayed dry. I did not. Worth it.

Champagne, Rain and Zero Regrets
Then came the champagne spray.
Bonkers. Absolutely bonkers.
It was raining. No one cared. Sharny and Casey were fully committed, and the results were unreal. These are the moments you remember, freezing cold, soaked through, laughing your head off.

Sharny and Casey didn’t want perfection. They wanted fun, energy, and photos that felt like them.”
Tattoos, Games and Controlled Chaos
Sharny loves tattoos, so naturally, the guest favours included temporary tattoos. Guests took this very seriously. Arms, faces, necks, and yes, even the backs of heads. Commitment levels were high.
The daytime flowed straight into a buzzing evening. A Mr and Mrs game took over the dance floor, followed later by a conga led by the DJ that went outside and back in again, because why not.
Sparklers
They also had sparklers ready, and while the weather meant not everyone fancied heading out, those who did made it count.
An Evening That Escalated Quickly
The first dance was to Die With a Smile, a perfect mix of romantic and relaxed, before the cake was cut and the night properly kicked off.
And then… the tequila.
A friend dressed in a tequila costume wandered the room handing out shots, which somehow led to a worm dance while still in costume. I’ll let the photos do the explaining on that one.
Add in a light-up dance floor, foam glow sticks, blow-up props, a fully stocked candy cart, casino tables with personalised money, an audio guestbook inside a traditional phone booth, a photo booth, scratch cards, chocolates, colouring books for the flower girls, and you’ve got yourself an evening that did not slow down once.
The dance floor was chaos in the best way.

“A November wedding with bubbles instead of confetti, tattoos instead of favours, and tequila instead of rules.”
A Couple Who Got It
One of my favourite things Sharny said during planning was how much they wanted to avoid stiff, old-school wedding photos. No forced poses, no awkward standing around.

They were also completely open about wanting guidance with angles and posing, trusting me to do my thing. That trust makes such a difference and it shows in the photos.
This was a wedding full of laughter, energy, warmth, and personality, even on a freezing, wet November day.
Sharny and Casey, thank you for trusting me with your day, for braving the rain, and for throwing a wedding that no one will forget any time soon.
Cold, wet, and absolutely brilliant.
